"NAWBO raises the Threshold" (Newsday)
Thea Linker, founder and President of SIGMA Staffing in Melville, likes to raise the bar- not just for herself but others, too. On her watch as the new president of the local chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, the group already has changed the criteria for its top award. It now requires that nominees run companies with at least $5 million in annual sales…. Adding more companies to the local chapter of NAWBO, as its known, will make people take the organization more seriously, Linker said, and help to attract more corporate sponsors….So how do you take business to that level? Make sure your employees share your values…Think of your employees as the most important part of your business. You cannot run a business without your team of employees, Linker said. 'You have to respect them at all times.'…Always thank customers and clients for the business they give you.
